Pink Dragon

yesterday's valentine's day was quite eventful.

The day started with all the love birds "crawling" out from the cave and spread over the streets as I watch them walking pass.

I was just standing on my balcony with my coffee mug looking at them.

I shower and went out for lunch with my friend at the nearby fish market; there's a florist selling roses and I see customers forking out hundreds for them...and to my surprise there was a few employees from the fish shop went there and got a few bouquets on discount.

Seriously why would people buy roses that have fish stinks on it?

Anyway, I did spend some effort on preparing a gift. (A "cartoon" character must be very creative but stingy...so I didn't waste any money on it.)

The theme was: 一心一意

I guess things are moving on slowly but...

One thing I can do now is to focus on my life now. Better times ahead.

Two words from you is all I need to realise that I can let go of the burden to stress over another person's responsibility.

Three times is all I need to remind someone that you don't have to hang out with people you hate. Now I can truly see why I wanna stay away from you.

Four conversations made me realise that when things aren't working out, the only person you can turn to is yourself or someone who really understands you.

It's 11.47pm over here and I'm feeling tired...just had a minor back pain after sneezing.

It only been one day since I'm back here, yet I was finding almost everything so difficult to adapt to...my car, my apartment, my room and my life.

I went back to gym today with Sunny and I couldn't bench half of the weights I was doing previously.

Met a friend yesterday and deliver the bad news, now I'm feeling guilty all over it.

The last trip back to M'sia was eventful and hurtful at the same time.

I had a dispute with one of my close friend, although I have forgiven him. However, seeing him wasting his time doesn't really please me after my attempts to help him get back in line and focus on his tasks.

I met up with people whom I plan to meet and I guess I manage to get to know them better which is very pleasant and meaningful to me.

My bro will be getting married this year when he decided to tie the knot with his fiance after 12 yrs of dating. (took him long enough~)

I guess my foot steps were heavy when set foot on the plane this trip.

I'm devoting some time into making it happen. It's best to say less and focus on getting things done.

Hmmm...

Exams over...

Still remember the time when you were studying hard for your exams...the feeling of bore and exhausted? You take a tea break and start thinking of things you would do after exams (watch a movie, shopping, or clubbing?)...feeling good you go back to studies.

For the record, during high school, I did always thought of taking a train ride to the end of line after my exams (but I never actually did it)

However, why take a train ride when you can fly with a plane...I will be heading back to M'sia soon, a few things on my mind...let's just hope it won't be complicated. (My dad did usually say trying to "fly" before learning to "walk" is not good...the hell with it, flying feels good and I walk everyday in summer sweating like a pig)

There will be 2 weddings to attend in M'sia and probably another one in China.

Ok...

To be honest, I'm exhausted;

It all started a few months back when I got myself into a routine to "look" fit.

The routine consist of 3 process: eating on time, working out on time and plenty of rest.

It started off easy at first but it's getting difficult as it progress; I'm trying change too much with too little time.

But it's ok. I have my reasons and this is how it begins...

I was studying in primary school and very active in sports, not that I was any good at it, but I rather be outdoor than to stay in class and learn. I wasn't focus in class and would fall asleep as I flip the pages. My results were bad and I don't really know how to improve them...To make it worst, my bro has always been top 5 in his class, and I don't understand why he's always doing better.

As time passes, I just couldn't be bothered.

But, on a Saturday of '92 my dad knew that something needs to be done and he threaten to send me away from M'sia far away from my mom. Furthermore, I would be place in a study room for long hours with "books"; and "storybooks" would be my entertainment buddy. I reach home that night feeling terrified and I remembered that my mom have to talk to my dad about what he did and said to me. At the end, the deal was set, if I could improve my position in class...I get to stay.

As a result, I did great, I was 49 in my class (there were 50 students in my class) - I came close to be last...again. As anticipated, my dad wasn't impress with it but he has to honour the deal. I know coming second last doesn't seem to be a great deal, but it was a start and I did put a lot of effort to understand what was being examined.

I doubled my effort the next semester and started attending tuition classes, I kept doing that for the next few years. At 12 year-old, I was top 5 in my class; my results got better as I kept gaining weight.

When I reach 13, my height was 145cm and my weight was at a staggering 65kg. In short, in the introduction column in my year book would be: "I was book smart, I enjoy eating but very fat and I don't like to exercise...come catch me, I can't run".

This time round, my mom was worried and took me for a check-up in Assunta hospital; I thought I did well surpassing the scale of being overweight and was formally declared as obese. After that, my dad would take me on a 1.8km jog, every weekend - I would do my best to pretend I am sick to avoid the jog.

Frankly, being 13 was a nightmare, I woke up everyday being fat and low in confidence; I would dream of being slim again.

When I was fat, I remembered girls weren't nice to me and was ridiculed at the sight of me; boys would make fun of me...as for adults...adults were actually nice to me because they reckon I was cute - I look like a ball.

I didn't realise my physique problem until my PE teacher told me to do 50 push up because I couldn't hit the volley ball across the net. (I lack strength for that task).

By the time I reach the 50th push...it ended up as a disaster. I can't stand, I can't breath, and to my amazement, I started puking. (I think I had nasi lemak at recess time before the PE class...what a waste?)

As a result, I always hated my PE teacher; not because of the push up punishment but he's overly enthusiasm about being strong and fit, he also told me something is wrong with my genes, growing like a girl...yeah I guess he was probably right at that time.

But I don't think he saw this coming:

So between mind and body...which one would you choose?

Remember, the ingredient is simple: time; but the process is challenging because not only you need to put your mind and soul into it, you will also need to have sustainable perseverance. (meaning know your patience and focus into getting things done one small step at a time)

The last stretch

Ok...studies done, exams next week, not enough time to finish the readings.

That's ok, I knew it all along, it wasn't easy but it's the last stretch.

In this last stretch, my eye lids are heavy, my eye are dry, my brain is exhausted and the situation doesn't look good on my side.

But...it's the last stretch, and so easy to just quit; but so close to the finish line.

So what's going to happen?

Time...is ticking.

I don't want to give up...never give up...giving up is not an option...quitting is a bitch...complaining and feeling disappointed is also a bitch...

Come on, shit happens in life, but I don't have to spend time bitching about it.

I will do something, I will pound this inch by inch, it gonna get harder, but I will keep pounding...

How?...isn't it just cool if u can still find the strength to keep fighting even it's a losing battle, to change the odds?

Why?...quitting is hard; but not quitting is harder...

This is my life and I shall see to it that it's done my way.

Acronym

I saw a post on my FB the other day...it was an acronym:

ABCDEFG = A Boy Can Do Everything For Girl

and the second part sounds even better...

HIJK = He Is Just Kidding

I was chatting with my new tenant and saw him smoking a Marlboro cigaret, I suddenly remember a friend told me another acronym:

MARLBORO = Man Always Remember Love Because Of Romance Only

*if you spell it backwards...

OROBLRAM = Only Romance On Bed Ladies Respect A Man

...I found out that learning can be so fun, if everything can be remember as a code like acronym, things would have been simpler to memorise.

Here another one that I remember until now since my highschool - The color of rainbow and its order.

"Michael Jackson Kill His Brother In USA" = Merah Jingga Kuning Hijau Biru Indiglo Ungu

It's in Malay since I studied in a Kebangsaan School back then (10yrs to be exact) and I always nail the rainbow question without problem.

Recently, I have been trying to catch up on my studies...I have to cover around 60 odds pages per day in order to give myself time to practice on the questions and pass the exams.

To be honest, 60 odd pages is just a rough estimate...I am an accountant and my calculation indicates that I won't be able to finish all the materials in time; I realise I am fighting a losing battle...

However, giving up is hard; not giving up is harder...perseverance and patience is the essence to my situation.

Was just trying to organise a replacement of key tag and spoke to the Building Manager about some general issues.

Apparently there was a few complaint a few months back when I was fixing my Celica in the carpark. Yikssss....

However, I didn't receive the letters thus, I just apologize for my misbehavior and just thought about what I did...

Thinking back, it was a bad idea to have it re-spray there. I did promise that it will never happen again (damn who actually wants to get into an accident and spending all those weekends on the car?)

Anyway, time to move on again...remember to drink lots of water and tons of rest.

Last weekend my tenant brought 3 drunk friends (3 guys and one of them injured from fight) and crash over at my place at 6.30am. They were loud and I woke up to see what's happening.

First things first, if he would have brought 3 drunk hot chicks back home, I probably won't mind sharing the "burden" with them, after all "sharing is caring".

Secondly, if you know your friends are drunks, sent them back home and the injured to the hospital...this is my apartment and I don't like to see people wearing their dirty shoes, drunk and sleeping on my couch. I end up feeling exhausted the whole day and trying to find something to do until it's bed time again.

Before I get to the final point...let me just show you guys his sms:

V: Please don't bring friends back to the apartment when they're drunk or in bad condition. This is our home and I'm not very keen to stay up like today ;)

Tenant: Are you serious...That was a one off. Don't be such a tool!

V: You need to understand, and respect that I am not being difficult. Just don't let this happen and I won't be a tool.

Tenant: I'm out in less then three weeks. You don't have to give me demands... I am more then respectful and you know it! I just had a family member pass away. I don't need this shit from you!

V: My condolences. It's not a demand, it's in the contract, be polite even you dun like me, that's RESPECT. I'll talk to you when you cool down. Just don't be rude.

Tenant: I have never been rude to you. I expect you to act like someone I have known for 3 months and not pull rank on me every time. You know I am respectful stop treating me like an idiot!

Finally, don't open your mouth if you have no say in it, you end up making things awkward and difficult for yourself.

I have a few issues to deal with recently. It was Sunday and I was only planning to talk about a few things over lunch with a friend; ya know to enlighten my perception a bit.

Somehow we ended up near the quay...it was quite romantic when the sun was setting...but *speaking about off-timing* I was with guys at that point in time....FAIL moments.

Wow, I can't believe this blog has been here for 4 years...never knew that I could sustain something that long other than my last relationship - which has been the sole reason why this was written, to remind myself I bloody live this life for myself and nobody else...muahahahahahahahaha...

Ok, enough of the evil laugh...the blog entries has been decreasing significantly over the years because I am felt that I was ready to let go and in time I did. Important lesson learn? Yes...forgive but never forget!

I started the blog with a broken heart mended it with a lot of crazy ideas, I had nothing to loose and was blinded by the potential I have in life. Fortunately, I have a few good mentor in life, my dad, Phil, my mom, my bro, my uncle (which I still find him bizarre) and my other uncle Boon (Uncle Boon...I came to like him a lot more but I guess he probably still holds me responsible for some misunderstanding we had in work ethics which I am sorry for) and my friends. (ofcoz we do have our different opinions, we came to like each more everyday hahaha)

Life in Australia is very smooth, despite the little hick up. But this trip when I was back in KL, I realised that it is home and I would have to return there one day.

Back in 2003, I left to Australia without knowing much of my future plans, I only knew I need to finish my highschool here, and graduate from a reputable university. Although life was good but it wasn't easy for me, I have to learn how to use a computer (I didn't have a clue about pc back then), improve my English (vocab was extremely limited...I would use an Oxford Dictionary given by mom to check a word and have to then find definition of other words that were use to explain the word I was initially searching for) and bear with the stress of doing others assignment (bloody bludgers).

After graduating, I had a hard time looking for work due to my VISA status and had to do some test in order to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia. I remember working for a fish and chip shop (where I got the best burn mark in my life), kitchenhand in a chinese restaurant (one word to describe the work - dirty), and a magazine company (at least it's an office work); I would have to do this 3 jobs at the same time while trying to finish my last semester in uni. Life was tough and I barely had enough to eat and sleep, but I felt alive and real...telling myself: "I will think of these days when I get into better financial positions."

Keeping it real becomes more dramatic when I broke up with my ex, feeling unwanted and lonely, I befriended Johny (Johny Walker), I promise myself I won't shear tears and I will determine to prove her wrong. But thinking back...what I am trying to prove to her? Nothing...I was just being naive:)

Over the years, training hard and work hard in harsh environment over in PNG, I have turn into some piece of work myself...not so much of what I have but what I can be in and offer to my friends and families. Families values and culture becomes a big part of my life now and I have done some stupid things in the past I condemn myself until this very day...but I was only a kid. Life's unfair, you have to pay for the mistakes you done even if you didn't know what you were doing then...but we live and learn.

I learn to laugh at times of difficulties and tell myself not to be so hard on myself. Seize the day another day when you're ready hahahaha.

My life is indeed a work of my own architect; sculpting from every measurable moments in life...was indeed a very meaningful experience for me.

I have 2 room mates now one's an Aussie and the other from India.

My Aussie room mate girl friend works for the forensic sector for the NSW Police Department (Some what like CSI). We happen to come across topics regarding my past experience while working in PNG, having seen and gone through so much over the last few years. (She was referring to cases where people were chopped with a bush knife and being held gun point with a shot gun) She wondered why I never spoke of it and not affected by those incident...to be honest, I have been greatly affected by what I have seen and felt; just never really spoke of my feelings to anyone.

Sometimes, we just have to look forward because God gave us eye in the front of the head for that reason.

I was force to grow up quickly when I work in PNG but Peter was there to guide me whenever I need him. When he pass away I knew that being stronger was the only hard option I was left with.

I was confronted with a guy trying to bash me up just before coming back to Sydney and I had to talk my way out of it unharmed, it was the most diplomatic decision I made amongst all the confrontation I have in life.

Life is like a dumbbell, you lift it up and you will eventually have to put it down.

As for the Indian tenant, he always call my Aussie room mate "cool", his girlfriend as "super cool" and me the "calm".

Hmmm, I think I left the blog unattended for too long...

To be honest, I realise that there're a lot of events I just would keep to myself and rather not so suitable to be share with everyone.

I have 3 blog to update these days:
a) My organiser (personal/work)
b) AVARA's bulletin (work)
c) My Life, My Architecture (social)

I am not saying that the social blog is a burden to me, but rather my life has take a turn into more personal (private) and work emphasis. I didn't realise this until the beginning of the year.

It's good to go back and see what I have done for the past few years...and yes, everyone has come a long way.

I have been going out on a lot of events, clubbings and outings. But I just couldn't be bothered taking photos since everything is on FB (Facebook), and everyone just tag here and there. I felt that FB has done most of what I used to do here in my own blog, let alone the effort to even take photos of those events that took place.

So FB has done great and gave me more time to focus more on other stuffs, and really serious stuffs that had an effect on my life. But I realise that it can't be done alone and I am finding it hard to spare more time organising everything, probably it all happened at once.

But it's still good to leave a few words in this blog now and then just because it's something I have started. One thing haven't change since the beginning of this blog, there're still a lot of lonely people out there not knowing how to deal with life after lost of a loved one.

I hope this blog could help show how time can cure and live a meaningful life...only if you have the will.

Batman vs Superman, Spiderman vs. Ironman

It's that time of the year again...to make new resolutions.

So far I have achieve all my resolutions and it wasn't easy.

Those who wanna get engage, end up with marriage.

Those who wants kids, got 2 or 3.

Those who wants more money to satisfy their demand...still whining for more.

Hang on...the last group didn't seem to turn out so good. That really got me thinking...

Suddenly 4 superheroes pop into my mind: Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman

So how should I start...

Spiderman and Superman works in the press industries 9am~5pm job (probably more OT for Superman since he's a new reporter and crime fighting in daylight - source of power is from the sun).

Spiderman seems to have lower income and more stress in comparison because of Mary Jane (good thing they haven't got kids yet). Superman did better than Spiderman when it comes to salary, decent living standard and visit the parents quite OFTEN because his partner, Louis Lane is busy dating with Lex Lurther. Lex always charms her with luxury gifts, estate, tech gadgets and etc.

I remember it took Clark quite some time to win Louis heart over whereas Lex got her attention so frequent (they're not meant to be together since Lex is a bad ass). Nevertheless, you don't see Spiderman and Superman enjoying a good lifestyle. To make it worst, Louis is now married to another guy.

Dammit as super as he is, superman forgot he screw Louis and left a kid back at earth when he went missing...damn. Sounds like he quite blur and indecisive when it comes to love affairs, he life is a show as well, considering that Lex did mention he forgot to testify against him in court and give him the opportunity to buy his way out from jail and revenge upon him. If this is real life situation, and we're not superman...we're most likely doom.

On the other side of the coin, Batman and Ironman...well they don't have superpowers like the foremention superheroes but they're financially better off. Their powers derived from their brain and gadgets rather than some superficial power than we a normal being will never achieve (thus explaining why there's more Batman and Ironman movies these days). People want something we can achieve and relate to...an idol or ideal figure. Both Tony and Bruce owns estates, cool cars and their own company (being Wayne Industries and Stark Industries respectively).

More and more I started to believe that an ordinary job can only take you that far. Yes, it would be good to do what we want and enjoy. But we always forget those that doesn't have a choice and no many of us can really make it out in life alone.

Those who are lucky to have a rich dad, we have time to test out our limits working for other people and tell our peers I'm not using my dad's money (but they always forget people see them living in a nice place, driving a nice car all coming from...the dad).

I believe if one want to indulge in the family fortune, you must first accept yourself and there will be people talking.

I always thought that life itself is business and if you have an idea to do things better. You should think of using the resources yourself and make your dream comes true.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone, let's hope that the new year will be a better tomorrow.

PS: If I have offended anyone of my cousins or siblings in this entry, just pardon me for it. I have my fair share of opinion coming from close ones telling me I dunno what I am doing and losing my own identity. If that's so true, I for one don't pretend to be someone I am not, the money and power comes with great deal of responsibilities only few of us understands.

Maroubra Unit 201

Ok, first of all, I move into 201 because my friend found it for me and it's quite convenient to be honest.

I didn't realise that my ex actually live on the next building...but that's ok, we're cool now. I bump into her from time to time...but that's expected coz we live in the same area that ought to happen sooner or later.

I only thought that god was playing a prank on me...but my friends were saying he was actually sending me a message...I was like "what message?...crap!@@#"

But it didn't bother me much (seriously, I have got other things to worry about), eventually I got into a routine, work, gym, cruise, sleep. To be honest I can really settle down in 201 until I get my own place.

Recently a new girl just move in...this changes everything again...somehow I am nervous with girls these days.

It's been almost 3 months since I came back, it's been surreal for me.

Some parts of me still live in the past and the rest is just pushing me forward to a new beginning.

I learn to be more patience with people I acquaint from day-to-day. I grow to understand aspects of life I never been before.

I have been traveling around to places I never been, either alone or with friends. Meeting strangers talking about topics I never knew before and learn to see things clearer.

It's funny that I actually shave my hair (although it doesn't look good but at least I made a strong point to my friend).

Somehow, the uncertainty makes me feel alive...

I finally move into my new place. It's quite small and not to mention about the price. But it comes with a carpark since no body in my unit actually have a car.

Well, I still have to polish the car...however, it's up and running now.

Ok, I have bought my first car...

It's not expensive but it's also not new (to be exact 10 years old) because it's a second-hand car. If I want a car without any problem or going thru the pain to fix it; I would have got a new car like anyone else, but that means I have to folk up a large sum of money to do that or get a loan for the car (that doesn't make sense for an assets which is depreciating annually)

But I can't bring myself to do that, at least not in reality.

But at least I bought the car myself and I will fix the car so it moves...because I am not a spoil brad and I am not rich enough to buy a new car.

I won't expect everyone to understand this because I bought this car with hard earn money. It is not a present given by anyone.

I came back to Sydney to settle down a bit this time.

Unfortunately, things haven't been very smooth.

So far I managed to find a room to share with some students. They seem pretty nice;)

I am just bunking in my friend's living room at the moment...but it's quite comfy consider the situation I am in.

There was a time when I was little and people were too busy to even notice me…
But she was there for me…even it was difficult.

I grew up and it seems so easy to be engulfing in our daily life only to avoid others.
I feel guilty for not visiting more often...

I stare at the door every morning, I would almost feel he was there calling for me to get the door...I would for once tell him that I realise that he wasn’t all about work to me; he was more like a brother to me…I regret not telling him that.

We greatly miss his presence and more importantly his smile in this time of bereavement.

AVARA Ground Breaking

Last Saturday was Avara's Ground Breaking Ceremony.

We were praying for smooth sailing of the project from Friday night until the morning of Saturday. It was definitely an auspicious and busy day for everyone.

The ceremony ended with Dad giving an emotional speech after hanging up the banner and unveiling the model at the office.

I have been lazy lately and the internet connection was kinda crap over in PNG.

However, I am back in KL for a few weeks and I managed to get some time to update my blog *finally*

I went to Shanghai for Wendy's wedding, I was there during the registration of their marriage in Sydney and she hope that I will be in the formal wedding in Shanghai. I took time off work to visit Shanghai for the 1st time after 10 years. I would say travelling alone and going back there was something different.

I realised a lot of things during this trip that I didn't when I was younger...this is only natural because I couldn't speak proper mandarine and shanghainese.

I took a Maglev (Magnetic Bullet Train) and change for trains to reach Wendy's house. I got into some problems but I still managed to reach her in the end. *Proud*

The night view of Shanghai was spectacular...well, probably normal for most people, but I have been in PNG for too long. Hey, look at the bright side, at least everything is fresh to the eyes of a jungle man hahaha.

On the day of the wedding, I woke up quite early and walked to Wendy's house. Suddenly, I realised that I could actually walk on the streets without any worries...hahaha, I guess I am really weird compared to a normal person. But I guess it would be the same for anyone who's been in PNG for too long.

Apparently, she still have to work for half day everyday...tough life.

Oh yes...a lot of my friends was like...it's a trend to get pregnant before marriage? Well, only one advise the to all my friends and family out there, always register and get marry within the same period of time. Otherwise, it might give a wrong impression...but personally I don't think it does matter these days because we're just so carefree nowadays.

They also dress up the son for the wedding...haha:P I think he's quite lost most of the times haha...eg: attending my own parents wedding? *scratch head*

After the wedding, we went out for drinks and catch up a bit. I think it has been almost 2 years since the last time I spoke to Wendy. We walked around the old streets of shanghai later on and call it a night.

The next day, I went to Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Nothing fancy and there's too much to cover in one day.

After the excursion, I went for Indian cuisine in one of the suburbs and rush out for my date. I figured out since Wendy's always busy, it was a good idea to get her wedding planner's contact details and ask her to take me around hahaha:)

Oh...that's their train station, the have LEDs cover all over it and it changed colour to displace words or patterns.

She looks different now eh? Well, it was a bit hard to meet up since I was not very familiar with Shanghai and she did spent quite some time locating me...while I was still having a massage (ok...let me rephrase, normal massage). Lucky she was quite patient with me.

Heh, this is what I call a club...the one Wendy took me to was too formal hahaha...

We had a lot of fun that night, she forced me to do pole dancing and all sorts of non-sense, well, it's all about fun anyway...and most importantly I experienced the night life in Shanghai.

I woke up with a headache the next day...*expected* Went to Wendy's place for breakfast and the husband drove me around Shanghai.

We spent the whole day together for drinks, pool, lunch and dinner.

This is the so-called "Dragon Pole", it's a feng shui thingy and it's situated in the central of Shanghai district. I think there're 9 Gold-plated Dragons on it.

After dinner, I was out on again with the "wedding planner", this time I requested a GPS from my bro-in-law hahaha, why I didn't think of it before?...*hmmm...slow thinking*

It's kinda ridiculous to think back how our parents date back then when there's no GPS, but I guess they would probably say something like meet me at my place...here the address...and they turn up late in the first date...hahaha:P

I celebrated Mooncake festival over there as well, Bro-in-law bought this 60% chinese whisky...he told me it's chinese custom to drink it, so we did and before we know it, both of us was heavily intoxicated hahahaha...lucky our eyes can still see when we woke up in the evening.

After that, he treats me to foot massage and we call it a day:)

The next day, I woke up and received a call from Ling (neighbour from Sydney's Apartment). She was very surprise to see me in Shanghai and we went out for lunch. Later on, she showed me around the shopping area and show me the way they bargain for price...*impressed with her bargaining skills*

Overall, I would have to say that the purchasing power of chinese people has dramatically increased and I evident this with my own eyes. Products and services are generally quite affordable but quality and standard comes with a high price tag.

During the whole trip, this fella was all over the place. He's "Hai Bao", a mascot for Shanghai's 2010 Expo...designed in Taiwan. But doesn't he seem to look like a famous male product from "I need house", "durex" or "ansell"?

I am dropping one entry because I haven't wrote anything in July.

Basically, there's nothing much happening in my life other than some small events, gathering and endless company socialising events. I go to the office when the sun rises; by night I would get stuck in the gym. I try to squeeze every ounce of energy out from my body so I don't need to think so much... I would be so tired that sleeping would sound so sweet to me every night.

I have been on the same routine for more than a year now because those are the only 2 things that interests me. I don't consider myself as a boring guy but the environment kinda limits my expansion towards other interest:P Thus, leaving not much options in terms of a change to my current lifestyle.

Generally speaking, sometimes I feel lucky that I am not born a lady, I don't have strong urge for shopping or styling up my hair:) But I am still a normal mortal and it is hard when I really need something sometimes. For example: I am craving for McDonald or KFC but I can't get over here and officially I haven't touch or attend to any fast food for 1.5 year... this record was not part of the plan for being here.

However, a lot had happened overtime and I have opened my eyes to a lot of things I can't see in the past.

It's a rainy day today, I didn't get much rest last night because I was busy doing the payroll for all the employees. It's good that Hermee is here to help me out a bit and I have a handful of employees to support me at all times.

Just before I go to bed, I set my alarm to 4am. I woke up as schedule to do my routine check on the securities. 20 years ago, my father and bro was residing in the same spot and the idea of walking in the dawn within the compound feels awkward to me.

I went back to my unit and realised that Hermee broke the coffee plunger, so I couldn't brew any coffee this morning. Feeling agitated I sat down the couch and wondering "what am I doing here?"...and all the business issues start flowing in my mind. Suddenly, I realised that I have been thinking about business non-stop for the last few months, regardless day or night. When I was younger, I used to remember how my dad could just sit in front of the TV watching the news motionless for hours and anyone can sense there is a lot going in his mind...I got my answer now.

But the big question is: "Isn't being young all about meeting people, going places and doing things?" - Yes, indeed I am doing all three, but what about my plans for the future? I don't have anything in mind to be honest...

So while I am so carefree, I thought of my bro...he was struggling to get a job at the beginning of 2007 and he would blog everything that went wrong in his interviews. The struggle for his financial crisis, personal life and health was a constant challenge for him and the family; yet he always put his priorities right and I am proud to say that he finally found his dream job, got chances to travel around and always surrounded by friends that cares about him. I was very much relieved to know that he is doing well now.

Just thinking about my plans in the future or should I just follow the saying "I don't plan for the future because it comes too soon!" or "let go of the past, the future is unwriten, living by the day is living everyday to the fullest"...Personally, I reckon all these quotes are created to give excuses for people like me.

By the way, my dad's favourtie quote: "Make money while you're still young; think about the rest later, money will solve most of them at the end of the day."

I am tired...going to play Wii and get some rest after work :P

Recently we have been warn to increase awareness for potential disruptions toward daily business operations and safety for Asian staff (Chinese only).

Approx. 2 weeks ago, the Manufacturers Council of PNG was advised of a planned demonstration march (to be held in Port Moresby) against illegal Asians and low quality products from China sold in PNG. Unfortunately, the police and various security firms were unable to substantiate this intelligence.

Yesterday a demonstration took place in Gordons are of Port Moresby (POM). Somehow, the protest against illegal Chinese immigrant progressed to a general Anti Asian sentiment in particular Asian shop owners/ workers. Whilst the initial target was 'illegal Chinese workers', it quickly elevated momentum to the Asian Community. Meandering groups are moving around NCD and "preaching" anti-Asian sentiments, in particular to the street vendors, especially those who work for Asian owned trade stores. The preaching is gathering momentum as we speak and may potentially increase the risk of a "rent-a-crowd" following.

According to reports gathered, this Anti-Asian sentiment seems to spread around POM (town, 2 mile, 6 mile, Korobosea, North Waigani, Erima) as well as Madang Lae and Kokopo. Demonstrators will seize any opportunity or attempt to harm the Asian community if the MP doesn't furnish them with a letter of their concerns and requests ASAP.

With the general unrest at present there is cause for concern that unrest may arise.

Friend's nephew

Remember the guy who refused to move out from the unit, and insisted to put his girlfriend in the unit to guard his belonging while renovation takes off?

...He's back with more this time (unfortunately, not with style and new tricks).

We were under court order not to chase him out from his unit, however, it doesn't stop us collecting rent from him...right?

So since he wasn't paying rent on time, and defaulted this month's rental. The company has the right to cut off the electricity and water supply into his unit.

Well, first he went to the police again trying to get us in jail, but it was in vain and he was frustrated. *sad, everytime my boss visits this country, the same guy tries to put him in jail...lolz*

The next day, he brought his own electrician but our "intelligence" found out and we sent our security guards along with the property manager to stop him.

He was adamant and parked his car to block the electrician's car from leaving.

I think the argument escalated, and he started punching my property manager. My manager retaliated with a full swing on his face...that marks the end of the fight.

According to my secretary's report: "he was down for 2 minutes, with blood ozzing out from his face...we thought he was a goner but to our surprise he was rising up again soon after...sad:)"

I think the mom called too, she wants to put our manager in jail and she wants to ensure that the water and electricity supply will restore to normal...*first she wants to take us to court, then they defaulted rent, next the tresspass the property and create disturbance, now she wants me to fulfil her request?!!!* These people seriously need to get a life!

Some people just ain't meant to play devil and advocate...

I just joined up with a new gym. I have been going there for the last few days...trying to be fit again.

The newly wed manager is trying to get a baby now, sounds like a scary idea for me now. I guess it's not time for me yet. I thought I was ready for a lot of things but my reality check proves me wrong. Hmmm...well, I still have plenty of time to think it through.

Apparently, he hired 15 security guards holding bush knifes with dogs to guard the unit. I think he is really keen in keeping the girlfriend inside the house no matter what happens.

Oh, but he forgot to ask her girlfriend to stay "inside" the house...so no one was in there and we went ahead to lock it up.

Apparently, he was shock when he went back home and was crying while rolling on the floor. He then fraud some documents to get a court order and got the police involved.

Since he was so persistent in getting us arrest, we just played along and pay a visit to the police station. Well, we're "innocent" after all...

I was wondering around trying to find the washroom. Along the tour, I saw the inmates, cell block and other dept. But I could not find a toilet.

On humanitarian ground, we allowed the plaintiff to stay for the weekend but he insisted to get us arrested... so an investigation was carried out.

His butt crack is showing...lolz.

In the end, we all get to go home because the court order does not looks legitimate and his statements wasn't accurate. However, I think the police is going to pursue on the court order's legitimacy... so I guess we just have to wait to see what happens next.

Anyway, the was a robbery recently, however, this time they weren't so lucky.

I have no idea why my guard were there...but random things happens everyday over here.

The Story Continues... Part B: Too Young?

We have another random tenant move in this week. I was in the office doing some work when suddenly I was called to the site to settle some minor issues. So I went and realised that the new couple took one piece of furniture from another unit without permission from the management.

So the situation: One unit is missing with one furniture and I need to put it back where it belongs.

I went inside the unit and ask the lady to kindly return the furniture but she refused because she said she would have "embassy" people coming for visit and the L-shape lounge is not enough for them to accommodate extra guest. Well, fair enough...so I offered the option to change their furniture. They agreed to return the furniture and I showed them to a 3 sitter, 2 sitter and 1 sitter sofas; straight away they demanded the 3 sitter sofa to be move to the unit and not to remove the L-shape lounge in their own unit.

They don't get it, if they just take the 3 sitter sofa, the next tenant won't have enough seats and more importantly it looks weird having only a 2 sitter and 1 sitter sofa in the living room.

The husband's response: "Boy, listen to me, you're too young; you must be more flexible in these situations!" *I simply ignored his comment, furthermore, age is not a factor to measure success or experience in this era...he's just an idiot*

Then we move on to his other requests: a 32" LCD TV, pressure cooker, shaver, hair dryer, bigger fridge...etc. Let me make a note: They don't intend to pay anything for these items, in other words, they want free lunches.

I just asked the wife what's wrong with the medium sized fridge. She told me she would have "embassy" people visiting and she bought 10 different types of juices but she couldn't fit it in. So I suggested that she could put the rest of juices into the cabinets while just leaving a few in the fridge to chill. She asked: "what if the guest wanted some other juices and I didn't have them chilled in the fridge?"...

*Fxck what am I? A kitchen consultant now? Fxcking just put some ice into the juice to make it cold... she is fxcking retarded or what? What the fxck is she blabbing about the "embassy" people? As if I am fxcking conceirge to make sure their appointment goes well*

But thank god she didn't buy 10 boxes of ice-cream... I would really be out of ideas.

To my amazement, just when I was ready to suggest putting some ice into the juice, the wife suddenly started crying and saying that I am not being helpful. I felt pitty and told her to take it easy.

So in return, I supplied them a cabinet that was intended for me to put my folders and the husband commented: "See boy, I am helping you to use your things that you're not using! hahaha!"

*Fxcking retard, if there's something in your house you're not using, do I just go remove and use it?*

He requested for a digital clock as well because he find it hard to find his watch. FYI: he was late for the appointment and just walked into my meeting without a proper notice. He introduced himself as this High Inspector of some sorta Mining Company.

*Fxck if he's in such a high position shouldn't he be able to pay for all his fxcking requests???*

After he got his digital clock...he asked me for the batteries as well... ... ...*no comment anymore*

I wondered in the future whether he needs me to pump his petrol, feed him and wipe his ass for him...

Part A: Ignorant VS Humanity

Recently I have encountered some minor issues with tenants in our property.

So here's the story, let's divide the story into 2 scenarios: Part A and Part B.

PART A
We were doing renovations to all the units and it just so happens that one of the tenants was away for 2 months holiday. Well, no dramas... we just start with other units until he comes back.

2 months later, we found him and told him that the contract is expired and we need him to vacate the unit ASAP for renovation. He was back and to our surprise he refused to move out.

The reason:
He moved too many times in Australia and he moved too many times over here as well; when he moved into this unit he believed that it's the last time he is moving anywhere else. He said he likes the unit so much that he would buy the unit when he has the money.

The solution he proposed:
a) Weekly payment of K850 per week during renovation of the unit and K1500 weekly rental when he move into the unit again. *Special condition applies!

b) No weekly payment during renovation of the unit and K1800 weekly rental when he move into the unit again. *Special condition applies!

Ok ok... this is the ridiculous part on the so-called condition he proposed: He is not going to move his belongings and he will have his girlfriend living in the unit to look after his belongings while he is away when the renovation takes place. He will even write us a letter of indemity so in the case where his girlfriend was injured or killed during the renovation we will not be liable.

So my question here: His belongings is more important than a human's life??? Ridiculous.

We suggested that he should move into one of the renovated unit since it's the same but he refused because of the reason mentioned above. He further told us that we are not understanding him and being difficult with him...lolz.

Anyway we will be locking up his unit tomorrow. If I get the time to go over there for supervision I will make sure to take a photo of the scene hahaha.

Missing Car Found

Our staffs pulled a few strings in the network and found our company car parked in a rural motel. Without much hesitant, we contact the local authorities to claim our car back. Later on, we were told our car was being driven around the city by those robbers for robbery.

In some cases, they injured the owner (Mainland Chinese)... most probably he fought back and tried to be a hero. FYI: Mainland Chinese seems to have a suicidal wish, they have a reputation of fighting back with the robbers and getting themselves injure or kill in action, I guess it's in their blood???

After recovering the car and driving it for one week; to my amazement the car was stolen again! However, to my surprise it was found again the next morning in the parking lot of Lamana Hotel. It seems to me that this is some sorta hide-and-seek game!??

For the record, this car has been stolen for 5 times, and so far we have been able to find it. I guess such random case is only possible in PNG.

I am back in Sydney for 12 days. The last time I was 6~7 months ago, but the effort of updating my blog seems to pay off. At least my friends do actually know what's going on in my life, it was the only way for me to keep in touch with them.

It was fun to be back here again, meeting up with my friends and close friends... but I felt different, it feels like a holiday in a country that I visited so many times.

The trip was short but I did manage to make it a memorable one. Thanks guys.

Location: NGF Ltd, Compound

Me, my accountant, and my driver were on our way back to the office (NGF Ltd) after withdrawing money from Westpac (AKA Bank).

As soon as, I departed from our vehicle (Toyota Hilux 4D, yes...our car got rob again:P), my accountant greeted the taxi driver (Nigel) who was parking beside us. (He is a frequent customer with Nigel) I simply ignored and continued my walk towards the front doors when 2 bandits suddenly showed up, one equipped with a silver shotgun and another equipped with a colt. On one hand, my accountant was asked to move away from the vehicle. On the other hand, I was warned not to move and they yelled liked a zombie "money come...money come". Anyone would have known what it means. While I was stall, another bandit came from behind and searched all my pockets. They took my wallet (yeah, I don't have a wallet now), mobile phone (Nokia N81) and K2300.

At the same time, my driver was being hold up on the other side and he was asked to surrender the keys to the vehicle. As they drove off with our vehicle, one fired a warning shot not to follow them.

From the surveillance camera records, we noticed that they were 5 of them involved in this incident. Apparently, one guy came in earlier than the others and took refuge in the taxi that was parked beside us. 2 minutes later, our car came inside the compound and by now 2 more bandits make their way inside the compound (one carrying a shotgun wrap around with black plastic and another hiding his colt under he shirt).

While my driver was hold up by the guy with the colt, the bandit who was in the taxi came out and went behind him to steal the keys. He went inside the car and start reversing it, by now there was another 2 bandits coming into the compound. One was holding up the gate and another securing the situation giving opportunity for the rest to get inside the vehicle and escape from the premise.

Everything was over within 3 minutes...I was furious that no one came for help and I felt helpless. Ironically, my driver was upset because he was being suspected by others and he commented to me "I nearly lost my life out there and all people care is about their money and pointing finger at me???".

In the mist of chaos, my anger allowed me to overcome my fear, I composed myself, calm everyone down and apologize for not able to pay them on time and pomised to get them pay ASAP. After everyone left the premise and I locked up the doors, I started to think.

I thought to myself... was my life really that cheap that the security couldn't care less about my safety and all they worried about is their money?!!?... did my life meant nothing to them compared to those money that I use to hire them?

The anger was soon all over me and I couldn't control it, I started kicking and throwing things around me... I went up to my room and felt nothing. The last thing that went through my mind was "How I managed to screw up everything so badly????"

I am ok now... I know it's not going to be rainbow and sunshine for me everyday, and that's ok, I choose this path and I believe that pay day will come soon:)

Last Saturday, felt bore so I went to another concert again (Wally Pazzy) but this time it seems to be better than the last time.

We have to put this Motorola Tattoo on as a concert ticket... it's so hard to remove it.

It's friday and I was thinking of doing some random things at the office.

Oh well, it seems like being married prove to be quite interesting...for "him", for "her", and most importantly for "speculators" like me around "him and her", hahaha.

He was very happy giving me the official invitation for his wedding ceremony coming up this Saturday. He told me that the wife wants everything to be perfect because it's a once in a life time thing.

Have dinner with Phil and Sheryll that night, we were totally flat out for the last 3 weeks and just don't feel like cooking.

Oh...I just remembered we were discussing about some "bed issues" for the new couple.

He was totally confused... no idea that "bed" can be such a fun playground.

Oh... our employee who's on leave also came back to present two pineapple as gift for his wedding. I told him to tell him that it will arouse them and improve bed performance... hahaha.

Carvings again...

Just got a few carvings again to decorate the unit. I just have a thing for products that are being hand crafted, I always wonder to what extend that mortals can build with just simple tools. BUT the brain and patience is the mastermind behind all these master pieces.

I am amazed when I saw the Yam house, it's quite hard to carve a ebony wood and not to mention to insert the shell one by one into the carvings. The polishing process can also prove to be tedious at times. (*I tried it myself with some 3M products that we are currently selling)

The other day I told my staff to get me a good axe for chopping fire wood... because we're going to have BBQ (Western Style) over the weekend. This is what the end up buying me...

This is actually quite a nice piece and considering the material use to make it... I would say it's from the stone age. A random collection out of my expectation :P

I think the axe is actually smoked to preserve the rattan and the stone is polished to the extend that it actually shines... man can you imagine the effort that people would put in back in the old days:)

Life of a "Just Married" Man

This is what happens if you choose to marry on a working day.

1st: You scrabble the whole conference table to look for your soon-to-be wife's ring... otherwise, there will be no wife...like they always say: "no wife, no life". SO I guess this is the arena for life or death.

2nd: Since it's an auspicious day, make full use of it and gamble on Melbourne Cup (Horse Race of the year AKA The day where all Australians and Papuans cease and refuse to work and spend every last penny to gamble without thinking about expenditure for Christmas gifts...hahaha)

3rd: Always take a photo before gambling, at least you try to look the best like a gentlemen before the games starts where everyone suddenly turn barbaric and just start screaming and yelling for the horse number.

4th: NOtice the reaction of a "Just Married" Man... it's normally a happy and very fulfilling day for him/her.

Been very very very...BUSY lately. But you have to love what you're doing right. At worst, I guess it still beats nothing to do.

Setting up razor wire to prevent theft...sitting under the sun sometimes does kills me :P

But it's almost finish anyway...so not much to complaint about. Man I think natural sun tan prove to be quite painful.

Anyway, I planted a few orchid outside my balcony because I felt bored. I am so desperate to find something to do, I guess planting might be my thing now.

Somehow, praying mantis is quite common here...and they can be huge.

Found these 2 hibiscus drying up...so I moved them to new pots and they seemed to be doing well :)

Guys...remember to sleep a lot and rest a lot. Especially when you feel bored.

I got an invitation for a corporate shooting practice, unfortunately it was on a Friday and I couldn't leave the office. Oh well, probably next time.

Furthermore, my accountant left us and for some reason my life becomes busier than ever. He is going to the States living up to his American Dream, I am here living his life before he left.

Suddenly, my role becomes so obscure but like Peter Russell said "Be a man, do the right thing"... *sigh* man I don't even know I am doing the right thing, lost like a rabbit now:P

Moving house and Marathon

This whole weekend started with a lot of drinks with clients in the pub with maximum 2 hours sleep.

I continued my work the next day (Saturday) and having some discussion on how to move my stuffs from one place to another... after all I am the only one moving; and the others went for "mumu" (BBQ)

*sigh* The always forget about work when they have "mumu".

On Saturday, more drinks and entertainment with clients and with 2 hours rest, I am up for a 5 K Marathon with my friends.

I was late for my birthday party... because I just realised that I have turned into a workaholic:P

However, I was grateful that my friends and their family actually throw a birthday bash for me after work.

Jacky bought me a cake... lately, I have been craving for cakes for no reason. Gotta head to the gym soon if I dun wanna become a fatty.

The home cook food was also good, it made me forget all about my work problems. Unfortunately, I still have to face them again today... lolz, that's life for me I guess.

STUPID Old Hag and his Unnecessary but Imbecile Principles

On Saturday I was training in the badminton court. in the beginning, we're the only one's there and no body was occupying the courts.

Later on, a few people came in for practice as well. But there was this imbecile old hag who asked us to move to another court for no reason... *there was four in total and the remaining 3 were not occupied, who the fuck is this old fucking hag to ask me to move aside*

So I told him politely that we're occupying the court and could he please use another one. He told me this court belongs to their company and they remain the right to use which ever court they wish.

I simply replied him..."Sure, these courts belong to your company but I don't see your name or signature here"..."Furthermore, my friend is a member here who paid to use the court and I was invited by your company to join the game... what kind of shit rules are you talking about."

This old hag is just plain arrogant and no brains. Finally I realised why most of the players are from their own company and not much people like to join the tournament.

On Sunday, I woke up quite early and my friend took me out for breakfast in a cafe . It was a slow day and we just talk a bit about everything.

For lunch, I joined his family in Philipino Restaurant and later on I just chill in my friend's place and hang out with his daughter. The daughter was very playful, she kept asking me to go here and there... with her puppies.

I always wonder why my family get so restless with me when I was a kid hahahaha!

It was totally unexpected that I would have my first sport competition in PNG. I must admit it's the first time I felt the anxiousness of an athlete... especially having it straight after work.

But I played better than I usually did and my team reckon I should be more ready for my next game on Friday.

I also managed to meet a lot of people over there. I really enjoyed myself yesterday:)

I slept early and was sound asleep... until this morning :P

Recently I came back to PNG, realised that someone enrolled me into a badminton competition representing my company.

Furthermore, I also found out that I missed out on 2 weeks training while I was back in KL, leaving me 6 days for training. Due to my sudden disappearance, the contestant gave me a nick name "Mystery Player" making me look funny when I am sparing with my mate.

My body is aching after 2 days of training... but I am enjoying every moment of it:P Let's just see what happens.

Not much happening other than work.

Wasn't feeling well on Monday, the meeting after work in the conference room was tedious because discussion seems to be never ending and everyone seems to have their own story or opinion. No wonder people always define conference room as:

"A room where everyone enters and agrees with each other, but ends with disagreement as soon as exiting the room. "

Went back home and just head the sack, I have been missing my bed for so loooooooooong. However, I woke up middle of the night having a fever and experienced hallucination thinking that I was able to split myself into 2...totally random night for me.

I recovered in a matter of hours and went to work again for more meetings in the conference room:P

Went to the craft market on Saturday and most of the carvings weren't impressive. But I managed to get one that I liked. I also managed to get some black corals necklace.

There's actually a story behind it depicted from the auspicious patterns and style of the carving.
